I/Q In Block

This topic describes the parameters of the I/Q In block.

For instruments with Option EXT, the following settings allow you to adjust the External I/Q inputs.

I Offset

Q Offset

Common Mode Offset Range

Quadrature Angle

I Offset

Specifies a DC offset in volts for a signal applied to the external I+/- input ports.

This is used to specify the total differential voltage applied to the external I input port. The Offset Voltage offsets the signal applied to the external I input port by the value of this voltage. This is accomplished by adding half of the Offset Voltage to the signal applied to the external I+ input port and subtracting half of the Offset Voltage from the signal applied to the external I- input port. For example, if the desired I Offset Voltage is 0.05 volts, then 0.025 volts is added to the signal applied to the external I+ input port and 0.025 volts is subtracted from the signal applied to the external I- input port.

SCPI Command

[:SOURce]:IQIN<channel>:IQADjustment:EXTernal:IOFFset <voltage>

[:SOURce]:IQIN<channel>:IQADjustment:EXTernal:IOFFset?

SCPI Example

IQIN:IQAD:EXT:IOFF 1 mV

IQIN:IQAD:EXT:IOFF?

Notes

For instruments without Option EXT, the offset is 0 and not changeable, sending the SCPI command does not generate an error.

Q Offset

Specifies a DC offset in volts for a signal applied to the external Q+/- input ports.

This option is used to specify the total differential voltage applied to the external Q input port. The Offset Voltage offsets the signal applied to the external Q input ports by the value of this voltage. This is accomplished by adding half of the Offset Voltage to the signal applied to the external Q+ input port and subtracting half of the Offset Voltage from the signal applied to the external Q- input port. For example, if the desired Q Offset Voltage is 0.05 volts, this voltage (0.025 volts) is added to the signal applied to the external Q+ input port while this voltage (0.025 volts) is subtracted from the signal applied to the external Q- input port.

Common Mode Offset Range

Remote Command Only

Provided to allow programmatic compatibility with other Keysight Technologies signal generators. Command is accepted but does nothing.

SCPI Command

[:SOURce]:DM:IQADjustment:EXTernal:CMRange COARse|FINE

[:SOURce]:DM:IQADjustment:EXTernal:CMRange?

SCPI Example

:DM:IQAD:EXT:CMR COAR

:DM:IQAD:EXT:CMR?

Notes

Value is COARse and unchangeable, attempting to change value raises error -224, "Illegal parameter value;FINE is not supported on this platform."

Preset COARse
Range Coarse|Fine

Quadrature Angle

Adjusts the phase angle (quadrature skew) between the I and Q vectors by increasing or decreasing the Q phase angle.

Positive skew increases the angle from 90 degrees while negative skew decreases the angle from 90 degrees. When the quadrature skew is zero, the phase angle between the I and Q vectors is 90 degrees.

SCPI Command

[:SOURce]:IQIN<channel>:IQADjustment:EXTernal:QSKew <degrees>

[:SOURce]:IQIN<channel>:IQADjustment:EXTernal:QSKew?

SCPI Example
